Welcome to the world Kaitlyn! We have patiently been waiting for you to come! Kaitlyn was born on April 7th. Newborns are on my top 3 favorite kind of sessions and Kaitlyn was no different. She was the perfect baby! She had just the right amount of little rolls and had the sweetest little cry. When we finally got her comfortable and asleep she took some great shots! Can't wait for the next session!

Brittany + David

Brittany and David got married in late September. I was worried at first for the weather as it was pouring rain the night before and the forecast said for rain that Saturday, but these two must have had some luck saved away because the day was absolutely beautiful! Their were the perfect amount of clouds in the sky to make the pictures pop out and all the rain had dried up. Before the ceremony we headed to Glendale, KY to take some pictures in the antique district. We lucked out again when we were taking pictures of the bridal party and a train came whizzing by and made for some fun pics. After taking some fun shots of the bridal party we headed back to the church. I loved this church, in fact it has been one of my favorites. It was the kind of church you see in the movie, very small and quaint little white chapel. Once the ceremony was finished we headed over to Elizabethtown for the reception. The two were so cute during the reception and kept grinning at each other. You could tell they were having such a great time as new husband and wife.

Erica + Brandon

There were so many things about Erica and Brandon's wedding I loved. Their locations were definitely on my top 5 favorites! The ceremony took place at the Louisville Presbyterian Seminary. The girls and I did pictures prior to the ceremony and had a blast despite the very hot weather. I was so impressed with Erica because no matter what happened, she always had a smile on her face. You could tell this truly was the happiest day of her life. The ceremony was beautiful, but how could it not be at the Seminary. Every time I do a wedding here I am amazed with how gorgeous everything is around me. Once the wedding was over, I was so touched, I shed a tear. As Erica and Brandon walked out of the chapel I heard Erica whisper to Brandon, "we're husband and wife now" and gave each other a huge hug and kiss. It was a very sweet moment. After the ceremony, we headed over to Churchill Downs. This is the third wedding I've done here and am never disappointed. They always put on a great party! There was plenty of laughter and dancing going on from every direction. They had a photo booth at the wedding and if you have room for it in your budget, get one! They were a blast! Everyone was dressing up and taking pictures in all the wild outfits. Every time I stepped over, there was nonstop laughter.

I asked Erica the first time I met her how she met Brandon. She told me she was at a friends house and he walked in the door and she said to herself, "oh my gosh he is hot!" As she was telling me about it, her face lit up and continued to talk about their relationship like it was the first time she had talked about him. These two were so in love and would hardly separate the entire night. I felt so privileged to be apart of the special night and look forward to hearing stories about their future together.

Sara + Robert

Sara and Robert's wedding were my last couple before my baby girl was due. There wedding was June 20th and Claire was due June 27th. So I was ready to pop! Thank goodness I had one of the photographers I work with come along to this wedding! Sara and Robert's wedding took place at the Glass Factory in Louisville, KY. It was GORGEOUS! The ceremony was on the roof and you could overlook all of downtown along with the river. It was absolutely stunning through out the entire ceremony! I felt so blessed to be a part of this wedding. The reception took place in the museum and was full of energy. Sara's little siblings danced their hearts out and did their best to include everyone there.

I haven't written in my blog in forever... motherhood has taken over and kept me very busy! I wanted to blog on my past weddings because they were some of my favorites. Anna and Drew go married in Ft Thomas, Kentucky this past June. Everything about the wedding was beautiful, from the decorations and dresses to the behaviors of the bride and groom. From the moment Anna's mom called me last winter to enquire about photography, I felt like an old friend with this family. They treated me so kind and were always asking about my pregnancy. I felt so honored to be apart of their day. The reception site stood out because it was the same building Anna's grandfather was at for basic training before he left for WWII. I am a true history buff so this will always stand out with my most unique weddings.

There was not a single thing I didn't love about this wedding. Smaller and intimate weddings are always my favorite. The day started out with the girls getting ready at the church. Louis and the guys were on the other side and as usual with guys they were much more relaxed and chill while the girls fixed the dresses and placed their makeup on just so. Stacey looked beautiful and had the perfect dress. My favorite part of her dress was the back. It had roses that made the dress just right. After the ceremony we headed over to the Bell House. This is the first time I have shot a wedding there and it was delightful! I loved this venue and it was the perfect place for this wedding. Family and friends gathered around each other and talked and laughed the entire afternoon. Stacey and Louis were just right for each other and I caught them several time sneaking a smile at each other. I wish them both good luck and say thank you for such a great time!

Estee + Ron

Estee and Ron were the beginning to my Lexington weddings this summer and what a great start! Their ceremony took place at Northeast Christian Church in Lexington and if anyone has ever been there you know how BEAUTIFUL the church is! I was in amazement as I walked into the sanctuary! I loved the ceremony because it was very family oriented. After the ceremony, Ron and Estee greeted each guest and it just made it very personable. After the ceremony, we headed over to the Equestrian Woods Country Club for the reception. Once again, it was very personable and Ron and Estee made sure to talk to everyone there. Something I really loved about their wedding was how they incorporated their strong faith in God into there ceremony and reception. The evening was filled with dancing, great food and great friends. Cake Smashing!

I had the best time this week with Jadalyn and her cake smashing session! It will be her 1st birthday this week and we celebrated with cake! And lots of it! She was a little shy at first and very much a lady, but quickly dove right into the cake and it was hilarious! By the end of the session she had it everywhere... including on me and her mommy! What a great time! Happy birthday Miss Jadalyn!

I met Jessica for her consultation and immediately loved her! She was so excited to tell me all about her now husband Marcus and how he purposed to her. Her personality was bubbly and very friendly and I just couldn't wait to do her wedding! Jessica and Marcus got married in Fairdale, KY at South Park Country Club and it was absolutely beautiful! Their wedding reminded me of something you would see on theknot.com. Such beautiful and vibrant colors all throughout the entire event! Everyone at her wedding was just as friendly as Jessica and it was such an honor to be part of it.

On May 7th, I was able to attend Amy and Nick's wedding at Gingerwoods Estate in Prospect, KY. I loved photographing this couple... every detail about it was perfect from the decorations on the tables to the outside ambiance of the ceremony. I don't think there was a single person at the wedding without a huge smile on their face the entire time. It was so great to see everyone enjoying themselves and just having a great time. Below are a few pics from the big day!

I thought this was a GREAT idea! This was Amy's late grandma. To honor her memory, she put a picture on her bouquet. Made it very personal!

Jade + Jake

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon two weeks ago I had the opportunity to go to White Mills, KY for Jade and Jake's engagement session. They were such a fun couple and just genuinely nice people! We walked around a camp taking lots of shots and the two just had such a good time with each other! I felt like I was with a couple of friends the entire shoot. Towards the end of the shoot, we decided to get adventurous and go down a VERY steep hill. Me being my large pregnant self, the two were very concerned I would make it down. But we must go on to get great pictures! Both Jake and Jade helped me down the hill, but of course me being my clumsy self, I still tripped and kind of slid down the hill a little until they stopped me. It was totally worth the hardship as those shots were my favorite out of the entire session. Jade and Jake are getting married in sunny Florida and I just know it will be absolutely beautiful. After meeting this couple and having the privilege of shooting their engagement session I can see how perfect they are together and will be blessed with a very loving marriage. My wonderful husband has brought to my attention that I have not written on my blog in a VERY long time. I suppose I have been in lala land with our first baby almost here. Despite my laziness with regards to my blog I have been incredibly busy with Julie Anne Photography. Wedding season has begun and starting next month, I am booked almost every weekend with weddings! I am so excited for each one of them as all the couples sound like so much fun! I will have some engagement pictures posted on the blog tomorrow from a few different couples. All of which I had a blast working with!

Exciting news for Julie Anne Photography... we've got a studio!! The studio will officially open on May 1st. I will have pictures posted soon. The studio will include a play area for the kids which will have toys and a TV to show movies, a wedding corner which will provide local vendors to make brides lives a little easier when planning for their wedding, and much more! I will still be shooting on location, but this gives you all the option to chose from studio space as well! Schedule your session today as I am booking fast!

I have to say... I LOVE MY JOB!!! It is so refreshing to go to your job and have everyone be so happy and that's what I get when I do my photo sessions! Today I did Amber and Cody's engagement session. Amber was one of the winners of the free engagement sessions from the Bridal Fest 2009 in Bowling Green. I know I say this all the time, but what a GREAT couple! Although I just spent a short time with this couple, you could just tell they were perfect for each other! They had no problems kissing and holding each others hands for the entire session and it made things run so much smoother! I had such a great time with these two and we got some really great shots. Here are a few I have edited tonight. Enjoy!

Whitney + Kyle

Tonight was Whitney and Kyle's wedding and I came home from this perfect day and had to write about it! Susan (Susan is another photographer I have started working with... more news about her to come!) and I started out at Whitney's grandma's house where all the girls were getting ready. Everyone was so excited and having such a good time, you could definitely tell this group of girls were all very close. We then headed over to Whitney's other grandparent's farm where the wedding was being held. BEAUTIFUL! Everything was just perfect! There were fall colors splashed everywhere. It all reminded me so much of fall, all the rich and warm colors made her wedding day gorgeous! Whitney and Kyle's wedding party were so great to work with. They were up for absolutely anything. And this is always so great to see, the bridal party doing whatever it takes to make the bride and groom get some great shots. They had fun doing all the poses and everyone was so happy to be apart of Whitney and Kyle's day. The reception was the best part of the day! All the guests were on the dance floor and with every song that came on, everyone showed their enthusiasm. I don't think a single song went by without the dance floor having some happy feet! I am so glad to have been a part of this day! Whitney and Kyle are such an adorable couple and may God Bless them with many happy years to come! Sunday's Wedding Show

Sunday's wedding show went great and I met a lot of excited brides. There were a bunch of vendors at the wedding show from DJ's to makeup samples. At the end of the show their was a fashion show with gorgeous bridal gowns, tuxedos, bridesmaid gowns, and flower girl dresses. These shows are definitely an opportunity for the bride to plan the wedding in a day! There were a ton of door prizes given out to lucky brides including hotel stays! Hope to see you at the show!

Busy Weekend!

I am officially exhausted! My weekend started with Angela and Lance's wedding at the Kentucky Derby. We were all a little stressed out at the beginning of the week because if you hadn't heard, the derby museum was flooded! They were originally going to have their ceremony and reception at the museum. Thankfully the staff at the Kentucky derby was AWESOME! They turned a very sticky situation into a magical night. It was absolutely beautiful! There was lots of dancing and everyone seemed to have a great time! Angela and Lance didn't seem to have a care in the world on their day and made a beautiful couple!

On Sunday was Aubrey and Lance's wedding. It was gorgeous! It reminded me of something off the knot.com or Martha Stewart weddings! The wedding was held at the Admiral Bicknell Inn in New Albany, IN. The ceremony was held in the grassy area, then up the hill was where the reception took place. There were lemons and limes for centerpieces, which I thought looked amazing! They had cheesecake for the adults and cupcakes for the kids. It was so intimate with only close friends and family attending. All the guests seemed to have a very tight relationship with each other and the guests who had just met seemed to make great friends that evening. Everyone was having such a great time and it was something out of a movie. They did an amazing job planning this wedding!

Jenny + Jeremy

Saturday was a great day in Louisville by the river with Jenny and Jeremy. I had a lot of fun with these two. They were very relaxed the entire shoot and just had fun with the whole thing. These two reminded me of me and my husband when we did our engagement photo session. Jeremy was constantly making Jenny laugh and was doing spontaneous things through out the session. At one point I had asked the two to stand at a certain area and all of a sudden Jeremy just picked Jenny up. They were an adorable couple and were the perfect match! Their wedding is next year and Jenny brought some sunflowers to the shoot which made out to be a perfect addition to their pictures! They will be having sunflowers at their wedding so it was such a great idea to have them in the photos! Thanks Jenny and Jeremy, I had a GREAT time working with you two!

Brianna Sharp

Hey Everyone,
This isn't the happiest post, but certainly could turn into one.... My beautiful niece Brianna was diagnosed with DIPG, which in short is a brain tumor on the brainstem. This type of brain tumor is usually terminal and in the past month my Brianna has gone downhill. She has always been a smart, precious and sweet child. From the moment she I first met her I fell in love. She always put others before herself, even as a baby. I have thanked God over and over again for allowing me and my husband to go visit her this week in Illinois, but it was quite upsetting. She is suffering like no 13 year old child should suffer. Because of this, and because of how mad I am that this is happening to her or any other child, I am going to give a donation to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital for every wedding I book. If you aren't planning on getting married anytime soon and just want to make a donation, please go to their website. They are a wonderful organization that have helped so many children, and maybe someday, will have a cure for this awful tumor!

I just recently booked two more weddings. The first couple who booked their special day was Aubrey and Kyle. They will be having their wedding at the Admiral Bicknell Inn. I have never been there but plan to check out the bed and breakfast next weekend. I looked it up on the Internet and it looks so romantic. Aubrey and Kyle are planning a smaller wedding and I think they picked the perfect place! It seems like a very intimate setting for a wedding!

Alissa and William also booked their wedding. They have chosen Rough River State Park. This is another place I have never been, and again had to look it up on the Internet. I have to admit, I am such a sucker for outside weddings, and the pictures I saw on the Rough River State Park website were beautiful! They are going to have a gorgeous wedding with lots of opportunities to take great shots! I am so excited for both of these weddings as they are both unique and breathtaking venues!

Last but not least, the wedding show tomorrow!!!! It's in Lexington, KY, sponsored by Jacki Allen. I am so excited! I went today to set up for the show, and I am such a nerd because I got goosebumps when I saw my name and my very own booth! I know, I know I'm a total dork, but I got really excited, because like I said before, it is my first wedding show! But hopefully not my last, I have registered for upcoming wedding shows in Louisville for October and January, so stay tuned for information about those! Jacki Allen's Kentucky Bridal Show

I'm sooooo excited! In less than two weeks I will be going to my first bridal show! Jacki Allen's Kentucky Bridal Show will be in Lexington, KY on July 12 from 1-5. I had the opportunity to photograph Rebecca last week for maternity shots. We started out at Freeman Lake and got some beautiful shots! Rebecca was a natural at posing! Thank goodness we started at the park, because once we headed back to my studio, it started pouring down with rain! I had to laugh, because Rebecca was just as scared as I was with the storm! :) We finished up with some adorable pictures!

What a great time I had on Saturday with Whitney and Kyle! If you want a definition of adorable, you would have to meet this couple! They were meant for each other! They are high school sweethearts that ran cross country together. They laughed and were so great to work with the entire time! And they certainly had no problem with the kissing pose with their engagement pictures! We started off downtown Elizabethtown and got some great shots! Apparently some of the people driving by agreed as well, when we got some ooos and ahhs on the street as the two were posing and then some people beeping their horns as they drove by. We then went to a quiet area on some train tracks that turned out beautiful! Last but not least we headed over to Freeman Lake Park to finish up the shoot. I can't wait for their wedding in October!

Busy, busy, busy!

Wow! I have been so busy lately, I haven't had a chance to blog in awhile! I just got done with Shawn and Patti's wedding pictures. Their wedding was incredible! It was at Otter Creek and it was absolutely breathtaking over looking the river as they said their vows. Check out my website to see some of their pics, I made a slide show for their wedding.

Last week I got the privilege to shoot a family of three... soon to be four! Melissa and her family came to Elizabethtown so she could have maternity pictures done. She was the picture perfect pregnant mom, she was just glowing and so excited for her second baby. Not only was Melissa excited, her son and husband were thrilled as well! Her four year old son was adorable, always wanting to touch her tummy! Those pictures are almost done, so stay tuned to see some examples of those...

Last week I also booked another wedding for Cari and Matt. Such a cute couple! They are high school sweet hearts that are tying the knot in December! I met them at Barnes and Noble and they were both just smiling ear to ear when they were talking about the wedding and I felt like I know Cari for years. I can't wait to do their wedding because I feel like I'm working with friends!

Two days ago I had a photo shoot with baby Jeffery. If you all remember baby Lauren from a previous shoot, it was her cousin. He was just as cute as Lauren! He was constantly smiling and just as cute as a button! One of the best models I have worked with! He was up to doing almost anything! His pics should be up pretty soon, so stay tuned for those!

Last but certainly not least is Whitney and Kyle. I booked their wedding about a month ago, but haven't blogged about it because I haven't had a chance. Their wedding is going to be fabulous! It's going to be in October on a farm and I can't wait! I just envision deep, rich colors for the fall and it sounds gorgeous! I get to meet Whitney and Kyle in person on the 20th of this month for their engagement session, so stay tuned for those by the end of the month!

Hi all!

I haven't written a blog in awhile.... so sorry it's been a little crazy lately. I got back last night after Monica and Jermone's wedding. The day was beautiful and what a great time!!!! The ceremony started off at the church and it was gorgeous, not to mention Monica was a beautiful bride! Monica had a breathtaking selection of music with sensational singers! She even had a dancer for the ceremony who did an amazing job! After the ceremony we took some shots with her family and bridal party. It was non stop fun with this group and they were such troopers with all the shots we got. We head over to Masterson's for the ceremony. I have to say that I loved her bridal party! Even walking in as they were being introduced they had a good time! I have to say my favorite part of the wedding was when the dancing started! Monica and Jermone's had their first dance as a married couple, "At Last" by Etta James (one of my personal favorites). Then the fast songs started and it was such a sight to see! All ages hit the dance floor and it was adorable to see the younger kids really "get down". Monica and Jermone were such a wonderful couple. They were both so fun to work with and I'm so glad I got the chance to work with them.... stay tuned for some more pics!

I got Shawn and Patricia's contract in the mail yesterday for the May wedding. I can't wait for this one! They will be getting married at Otter Creek and it will all be outside. It sounds like it is going to be absolutely beautiful!!! They obviously have great taste! I've only spoken to this couple on the phone, but they sounded awesome! They are both very laid back and easy going (the perfect type people to work with!) I can't wait til May because like I said earlier, it is going to be beautiful!!

Hi everyone,

I had a photo shoot with the Campbell family yesterday. I just fell in love with this family! Their son James was just adorable. He was a little tired towards the end of the photo shoot, but he was such a trooper through the whole thing! We went to Cherokee park for the photo shoot and it was beautiful outside! I'm in the process of editing the pictures now, but here's one of James on the swing, such a cutie! And look at those beautiful blue eyes!!

I just finished editing Maddy's photos. Maddy is the cutest baby! She has the prettiest smile and was the best model to work with! Her mommy wanted Easter pictures and we sure got some! I added some to the website, but also added some on the blog. Hope you all enjoy!

Well this weather has been a total bummer on our plans this weekend. I had to reschedule all the photo shoots! I was so bummed about it too, I have been looking forward to doing them all week! Thank goodness I have the best clients! All of them were very understanding and agreed better weather would give better pictures! I can't wait for next weekend when I get to have sessions with Monica and her fiance and also with Ann and her family. Hopefully the weather will be brighter than it was today and yesterday!

Even though the weather was gloomy all weekend, I fortunately have a great husband! We spent Saturday afternoon in Bardstown exploring. I have posted a couple of the pictures to show what we found.... And of course, we couldn't go somewhere without shopping! We were able to find an antique china cabinet at one of the local antique malls to add to our new house. Hope you all enjoy the pictures, and lets pray for some better weather this week!!

Hi Everyone!
Today I met with Casey and Julia. What a wonderful couple! We booked their photography session for their wedding in November. I only spoke with them for a short time to discuss their wedding, but what I saw, they were so nice and very much in love! I'm really excited about next weekend! I have an engagement photo session with Monica on Saturday and another one with Amanda on Sunday. I'm so excited for both these shoots because both girls are super nice and both places we are shooting are going to be beautiful! I also get the privilage for a photo session with Ann and her family on saturday. I'm really excited about this one too, because I love doing family photo shoots, especially with younger children. I'm also doing another session with Julie and sweet little Maddie next tuesday. Maddie is the little cutie I have posted on my site with the tutu. She was the best model and on tuesday I get to do her easter pictures! Stay tuned for samples from each shoot!
